Chubby Cheeks!

We had our final ultrasound on Monday and Elizabeth was very cooperative this time and we got some really great pictures. We were able to get 4D images and see her sweet face. Both Grandma's were able to be there with us and both of them got a little choked up when we saw her face.
As always she was busy busy busy in there - her mouth was moving the entire time and it looked like she was talking (big surprise - she is our child). We saw her stick her tongue out a few times and even saw her pull her legs over her head.
She's 4 lbs 14 ounces right now and on track to be a big baby!! Only 7 more weeks to go!

The Home Stretch

So we're 2/3 of the way through the pregnancy and I'm really starting to get BIG! My belly button feels like it will be popping out any day now and I'm starting to have trouble sleeping. But on the plus side I can feel Elizabeth move all the time now and almost everyone in the family has felt her kick. Bill got to her move by making noise near my belly and was rewarded with strong kick - the look on his face was priceless =).

The nursery has been our big project this month and thanks to tireless work from Dad the nursery is 95% finished. The walls are a beautiful yellow and the closet and cabinets are bright white. When paired with the crib which is done in classic Winnie the Pooh on pink fabric it looks really really pretty. Only thing left to do is hang window treatments, shelves and do some decorative painting - stuff that falls on to my To Do list. I'll post pictures of the nearly finished nursery soon.

We were stumped by a bottle!

So Saturday we headed to Babies R Us to register for baby gifts. We had already been to the store several times in the past few months looking at strollers and car seats and had done quite a bit of research online so we thought we were ready to register. We had no idea how wrong we were! We were cruising through the registry until we hit the Wall O Bottles - not exaggerating, an entire wall of baby bottle choices.
We stood there in total confusion as we picked up one bottle after another - did we want a slanted bottle, a vented bottle, a bottle with a bag, a wide nipple, a narrow nipple, a slow drip nipple, a fast drip nipple...the choices were endless. 45 minutes later we finally registered for a bunch of different bottles and nipples figuring if the baby doesn't like them we'll just go back and buy more. I think I now understand why do many folks breastfeed - less choices to make!
After moving along from the baby bottles we managed to fill out the rest of the registry and have (hopefully) figured out everything we need for Miss Elizabeth. Only 4 months to go!

Welcome Baby Girl Leicht

IT'S A GIRL!! We found out yesterday that we are expecting a very healthy baby girl! The doctor spent a lot of time measuring all the differnt body parts including the head, kidney, heart, bladder, legs and arms and pronounced our baby very fit and well developed. She is 13 ounces right now and the perfect size for how far along I am (20 weeks 3 days).

Jon and Mom both went to the ultrasound and thank goodness Jon was there - he was the only one of us three who could make sense of the images we were seeing. Mom and I were both confused as to what we were looking at, but Jon was able to distinguish every squiggle on the screen and point out what we were seeing. Unfortunately our stubborn baby was in a very awkward position and would not give us a clear profile view so our ultrasound pictures are of her feet, her bum, her thighs and part of her face. No matter what we tried she just wouldn't roll over and move - can you tell she's my daughter??

For those who know Jon well and have seen his feet you know that he has very wide feet - in fact he has a huge gap between his big toe and his first toe - big enough that you might think he had a sixth toe that was removed. Well, when we saw the baby's feet on the ultrasound there is a huge gap between her big toe and her first toe!! Guess there's no doubt that the baby is taking after Jon =) And I want to know which side of his family has the funny toes that he has passed along.

We're ready to finally start painting the nursery and can start picking out things since we know it's a girl. We're just so excited to learn that the baby is healthy - we can't wait to meet her!!

Boy or Girl

Well that seems to be the question everyone is asking. We find out on Monday and we are both so excited with anticipation we are going to POP. Speaking of going to pop. Jamie is really starting to show and we can finally feel the baby moving.
